HARMONY 2020 Travel Information

The EMBL-EBI is located on the Wellcome Genome Campus,10 miles (16 km) south of Cambridge (UK), alongside the village of Hinxton, 30km from London Stansted airport. We are served by two local railway stations and are situated close to Junction 10 of the M11 motorway.
Getting there
HARMONY 2019 will be held at EMBL-EBI on the Wellcome Genome Campus at the EBI-South Building.
Flying
The closest airport is London Stansted with regular connections to many cities in Europe and nearly 200 cities worldwide.
Stansted is a 30-minute drive from the Genome Campus. A pre-booked taxi costs around £37.
If you fly into London Heathrow or Gatwick, allow at least 2 hours to reach Hinxton by road. A taxi costs around £101 from Heathrow and £117 from Gatwick.
Train
There are trains to the area from Cambridge, London Liverpool Street, London King's Cross (adjacent to the St. Pancras EuroStar) and Stansted airport.
Nearest stations: Whittlesford Parkway, Audley End, and Great Chesterford.
Trains are also available to the above stations from Heathrow or Gatwick airport.
To get to the campus from nearby train stations, be sure to arrange your taxi pick-up in advance. Timetables are available at the National Rail website.
Passport and visa
Please check your passport and visa requirements in due time before your departure. If you require an official invitation letter for your visa, please act as follows:
- Register yourself online
- Process the payment of your participant fee
- Send an email to the local organizers giving the postal address you want the invitation letter to be sent to. We kindly recommend you to contact us early in advance, as the conveyance of your letter may take some time.

If you plan to stay at central Cambridge. Please take the train to "Whittelsford parkway" (about 10 minutes travel).
Shuttle bus
